Bow came along later last year. I was a bit annoyed with her at first because I felt two cats were more than enough. A few male cats came and went. Then Bow got pregnant this year. In June, she gave birth to a litter of four: 2 black males and 2 tortoiseshell females. I named them Iskierka, Star, Midnight and Goldie. I wanted to get Bow spayed but I didn’t want to separate her from her kittens. Without her, who would protect the kittens?
I thought I’d get her spayed when her kittens were 6 months old. Little did I know the consequence. In the meantime, an unexpected bundle of surprise arrived in October. A small white kitten actually hid under the bonnet of my younger sis’s car and followed her home. We are so amazed and thankful that she survived the journey. The plan was to foster her until she’s a bit bigger. Max is four months old now and it doesn’t seem like we’ll be putting her up for adoption (despite her fondness for limbs).
In November, Bow got pregnant (again!). She gave birth to another litter of four. Surprisingly, the litter this time consisted of white kittens with brown markings, drastically different from her first litter. Their features singled out the male cat responsible for their being: the Cheshire cat. I don’t know his name but he’s been an on-and-off visitor to my house since last year. I suspect he belongs to one of my neighbours, just don’t know which neighbour. If I knew who he belonged to, I’d ask his owner to neuter him!
Bow’s second batch of kittens are really cute and I managed to get two of them adopted. I am left with two, still waiting for the adopter to come and get them. And that is how I ended with 10 felines...
