Seoul - Day 4, Fukuoka - Day 1

Recap of my trip to Seoul, Korea and Fukuoka, Japan, on Saturday, 19 March 2016.

We woke up bright and early today to catch the airport bus. We checked out of the hostel around 7am. As we exited the hostel, guess who greeted us? Pumpkin! He even wanted to enter the hostel but the staff didn't allow him to go in. I wondered if Pumpkin came to thank us for the can of tuna last night or if perhaps he came to see us off. We felt sad we had to leave him there in the cold but we quickly walked away because we didn't want him to follow us. Take good care of yourself, Pumpkin!

The flight from Incheon to Fukuoka was all right overall and we arrived in Fukuoka around noon. My friend's friend came to pick us up at the airport. Introductions were made and we hopped on the bus. We then took the subway and from the subway station walked for a bit before my friend's friend's wife picked us up in her car. We reached their apartment not long after and once inside, our hosts showed us our room and the rest of their charming and lovely home. It felt colder here in Fukuoka compared to Seoul. Our hosts told us we could just rest today and take it easy partly because my friend had told them of our hectic schedule in Seoul and also because she had developed a slight backache which I think was partly caused by us lugging our bags up three floors at the hostel in Seoul.

We took a nap in the afternoon and woke up in the evening. Our hosts took us to a nearby karaoke lounge where we had dinner and sang our hearts out. Some of us seemed shy at first but after some rounds of singing, everyone took their turns to sign. I noted that unlike karaoke lounges in Malaysia, the one we were at was brightly lit and didn't seem shady at all. There was even a kid's birthday party going on at the ground floor ^-^

What most probably is an eternal favourite, Sukiyaki!
